The SPARK team will attend DTF Conference 2026 in Valletta, where port, shipping and energy stakeholders will meet to explore the transition from shore power to integrated energy systems.
During the conference, the team will deliver a keynote presentation introducing SPARK and its ambition to provide clean electricity to stationary vessels at anchor. The presentation will outline the Offshore Power Zone concept, the planned pilot outside Skagen and the role of the eight-partner consortium in moving offshore charging from technical concept to live operation.
The keynote will also highlight the wider challenge addressed by SPARK: vessels waiting near shore commonly keep auxiliary engines running to maintain onboard systems. A scalable offshore connection can reduce greenhouse gas emissions, local air pollution and noise while supporting cleaner port and anchorage operations.
DTF Conference 2026 will provide an opportunity to share the project with the wider maritime electrification community.
